No boarding is permitted! GREAT NEWS FOR 2017 Parrothead Regatta The Town of Oriental is again officially rolling out the Red Carpet for all Parrothead racers. The Town has reserved both public Town Dock #1 and Town Dock #2 for all NYRA racers! Limited Free DOCKAGE (no power available) for up to 48 hours Yes, this is a FREE Neuse River Race for all NC sailors, with a beginner friendly pursuit start beginning near marker #17 on the Neuse,(across from Fairfield Harbour), leaving #8 to port, then #1AC to port, and finishing at Oriental #1. It is open to all mono-hull sailboats 21 feet or longer and will be governed by the rules defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016. Those without a current NC-PHRF rating certificate (Arghh!!) will be assigned a rating by the Principal Race Officer (PRO). The scoring will be based on Time-on-Distance handicapping with each boat given a starting time at the skippers meeting. Awards will be given in each class as deemed appropriate by the Organizing Authority in its sole discretion.
