Ventura Yacht Club is pleased to announce the 2019 Ventura Cup Regatta and Santa Barbara Channel Challenge. These will be sailed in the waters off Ventura Harbor on the weekend of Sept 14-15, 2019. The Santa Barbara Channel Challenge Random Leg Race will be sailed on Saturday, Sept 14. WindwardLeeward Buoy Races will be sailed on Sunday, Sept 15. The Ventura Cup will be comprised of the Santa Barbara Channel Challenge Random Leg race on Saturday and the (up to) three Windward-Leeward buoy races on Sunday. The Santa Barbara Channel Challenge will be a single Random Leg race on Saturday, which will also serve as the initial race for the Ventura Cup. Skippers who enter the Ventura Cup will automatically be entered in the Santa Barbara Channel Challenge. 

 
The Ventura Cup Regatta will be a competition of spinnaker entrants. Each area yacht club may designate up to two 3-boat teams to compete for the Ventura Cup. Boats may enter the Random Leg race on Saturday or the WindwardLeeward races on Sunday even if not on a team and vie for individual honors. Boats entering the Ventura Cup are scheduled to race both days. The Santa Barbara Channel Challenge race will be a competition of spinnaker boats. Boats entering only the Santa Barbara Channel Challenge race sail only on Saturday.
