In order to minimize the impact of having commercial ferries transit during a fleet start, the Spinnaker Fleet start has been moved up to a warning at 1815 with a start at 1820. The Non-spinnaker Fleet warning will be as soon as practicable after the start of the Spinnaker Fleet. This deletes the 5 minute delay between fleet starts. The Sailing Instructions have been modified to reflect the start times. ...

For ease of reading, the course sheets have been updated to change the course designations to Spinnaker A and Spinnaker B vice Spinnaker Deep and Spinnaker Shallow. The remainder of the course designation sheets remain the same. ...

To help with some confusion, when a course is designated, such as course D, the Spin A division will sail the spinnaker deep courses and are all considered deep draft which allows them to use the virtual marks if desired. Spin B will sail the spin shallow courses which are different from the Spin A courses for the D course. If the RC puts an A next to the course designation then all boats can use the virtual marks if desired. Non-spin courses for both A and B are the same.
Just to be clear, under the Racing Rules a Gate is a line between two marks. The boat must cross the line and can choose which mark to round. For the Deep draft boats, and when the A course designation is used, the Gate is between government marks 5,7,9 and a virtual gate mark as described in the sailing instructions. ...
