2024 ETYSA Queen Anne’s Revenge Jr Regatta
The Queen Anne’s Revenge was the flagship of the pirate Edward Teach, infamously known as “Blackbeard”.
The ship was formerly a French privateer that was captured by Blackbeard in 1717. While he sailed her, she
carried a complement of 300 pirates and she was allegedly armed with up to 40 cannon. Blackbeard
successfully captured many prizes with the Queen Anne’s Revenge and even blockaded the port of Charleston
with her and his flotilla of pirate ships. In 1718, while attempting to careen and clean the bottom, the Queen
Anne’s Revenge ran aground off Beaufort Inlet, North Carolina damaging her beyond repair and abandoned…
