2012 Cinco de Mayo Regatta held on the Neuse River, downtown New Bern, NC May 5th, 2012 (Proceeds to benefit the Edward Teach Youth Sailing Association) One design and PHRF racing on the Neuse River, just off the New Bern Waterfront! Cruiser friendly race - pursuit start, point-to-point sail for PHRF classes CLASS COMPETITION One Design Classes Anticipated OD Classes: Flying Scot, Sunfish, Opti, Ensign, Flying Junior, & San Juan 21 Other classes may be considered if enough interest (3 or more boats) is generated OD classes will be racing on the Neuse River just off the New Bern waterfront. Multiple races are planned for each day. PHRF Classes Anticipated PHRF handicapped classes: Spinnaker, Non-Spinnaker & Cruising. An appropriate course down the Neuse River and back will be set for the anticipated weather conditions Schedule of Events: Saturday, May 5th 8:15 am - Competitors Meeting - Union Point Gazebo, Union Point Park 10:00 am - First starting senquence - NYRA Cinco de Mayo Regatta 2:00 - 5:00 pm - Live on the Neuse with Lipbone Redding at Persimmons Restaurant (enjoy lunch and a view of racing and the river from the deck at Persimmons) 5:30 pm - Cinco de Mayo Shore Party - New Bern waterfront, adjacent to the Galley Stores & Marina at Skipjack Landing (catering by Persimmons Restaurant)
