Called for 15-20, gusts to 30. had 12+ actual early on with a bunch of reefed mains and little jibs. Then the Class Flag went up, the breeze down, way down, and the flood took over. The start turned into a giant parking lot for most, A boats starting late with the B's, boats unable to get across the line for what seemed like hours - very ugly. The breeze never actually quit, sneaking 45 degrees south to west and back, more than a couple times. Up at the weather marks, breeze on! Seems those that hung in there, footing through the shifts and remembered the flood did ok, some more than ok. Crazy! 24 yachts started. 22 yachts finished.
