In consideration of the acceptance of my, or my minor child’s, application to participate in this yacht race, I hereby waive, release and discharge any and all claims for damages for death, personal injury or property damage which I may have or which may subsequently accrue as a result of my participation in this yacht race. This release is intended to discharge the promoters, sponsors, the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, the Sarasota Youth Sailing Program, the officials, any involved municipalities and other public entities, and the US Sailing Assoc., from any and all liabilities arising out of or connected in any way with my participation in the yacht race, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the person or entities mentioned above. I further understand that serious accidents occasionally occur during yacht racing, and that participation in yacht racing occasionally sustains mortal or serious injuries, and/or property damage, as a consequence thereof. I knowingly assume the risks of yacht racing and release and hold harmless all the persons or entities mentioned above who might otherwise be liable to me or my heirs or assigns for damages. I agree to abide by the rules, regulations, and sailing instructions of this yacht race and The 2017-2020 Racing Rules of Sailing including the prescription of the US Sailing Association. I realize it is my sole responsibility to decide whether or not to start or to continue to race. In consideration of being permitted to enter this regatta and being fully knowledgeable of the risks of sailing, I agree voluntarily to assume all risks of participation and hold harmless those sponsoring or aiding in the regatta from any liability of any nature whatsoever for accident or injury to myself or my yacht. Additionally, I hereby grant to the Sarasota Youth Sailing Program, Sarasota Sailing Squadron and to its employees, agents and assigns the right to photograph myself (or my dependent) and use the photo and or other digital reproduction and/or other reproduction of my/their physical likeness for publication processes, whether electronic, print, digital or electronic publishing.
