Registration for Jackson Yacht Club : Fall 2024 High School & Middle School Sailing Program

Practice and Regatta Dates. The Fall High School and Middle School Sailing Season will begin with weekly practices during the week of August 26th and continue through the end of October. Students will sail in C420s and Optimists. All schools will sail in the Youth Hospitality Regatta. Mark your calendar for October 26th and 27th as this will be an all day fun event!

What to Bring to Practice. Students should bring a lifejacket, water bottle (the Sailing Center has a chilled water bottle filler), and sunblock to each practice. For rainy days, a rain jacket and tights or sailing bibs. Closed toes shoes (old tennis shoes which can get wet) are recommended, but not required.

Instructors. Anna Marie, Maggie, and Emily are our US Sailing Certified Level 1 Instructors.

Teacher Sponsors. For each School, we have a "Teacher Sponsor" who will participate in each practice and the Regatta.

Payment/Scholarships: The registration fee is $290. Please click "Express Checkout" on the "Checkout and Payment" page of registration. Payment can be collected through credit card on this website, check (written to Jackson Yacht Club) mailed to Jackson Yacht Club 700 Yacht Club Road Ridgeland, MS 39157 or given to a coach, and charged to member accounts for members of the Jackson Yacht Club. I release and forever discharge the Jackson Yacht Club, the Jackson Yacht Club Foundation and the Sponsoring School; its Officers, Board of Directors, High School Sailing School Committee, Instructors, Teacher Sponsors, Parent Sponsors, servants, agents, employees, and volunteers from any claim for property damage, injury or death arising out of or during the course of any participation in the sailing program.

I further certify that, to the best of my knowledge, the applicant is in good physical condition and suffers from no physical, emotional or mental impairment, which would adversely affect his/her ability to safely participate in sailing activities.

I also agree that my child will follow the general safety rules (“Student Expectations” – available for download with this Registration) and that continued abuse of the rules will result in expulsion from the program with no refund.
