Below is the information you will need for the start of the race tomorrow. 9 - Yachts will be participating in this years John Paul Jones Destination Regatta. First Gun will be at 11:00 am in the area of Gunboat Shoals Buoy. We will have one Start for all Fleets. RC will be monitoring and announcing on Channel 68 The finish line in Rockport Harbor will be at CAN "3" 42"39.845' N - 70".36.024' W Sandy Bay Yacht Club's Race Committee Boat will be monitoring the Finish Line - They will also be monitoring Channel 68. - If no RC is at the line when you arrive please take down your GPS finish time HR:MN:SC. Once you have arrived contact SBYC Launch Boat on Channel 9 and they will take you into your mooring station. All transient vessel tie-ups in Rockport Harbor are under the direction of the Rockport Harbormasters, Rosemary Lesch and Scott Story, who may be reached by calling the Rockport Harbormaster on VHF Ch. 9. You may wish to call ahead for reservations (especially on summer weekends) at (978)546-9589. The fee for overnight tie-ups is $1.00 per foot per night. Because of our tides and harbor depth, the maximum draft which can be accommodated is about 6½ feet. If there is no available space for tying up, there is a nice anchorage to the northwest of Bearskin Neck off of Front Beach (no fees). One caveat - if the wind is blowing strong from the east or northeast, the anchorage and tie-up spaces are uncomfortable or even dangerous. The weather calls for 60% change of rain for Friday afternoon so be prepared. If you have any further questions please call me at 603-502-7885 Cheers, Tom Schladenhauffen Rear Commodore Kittery Point Yacht Club. ...
