About Event

The 150 Bridge Race is a long distance race starting from the South end of Lake Norman near the shoal marker WNW across the channel from Channel Marker 2, up to a floating marker positioned near Channel Marker 17A and back to the start. Distance is approximately 16.6 nautical miles.

    Competitors will adhere to the “Basic Principles” of the RRS which say in part that when competitors break a Rule they will promptly take a penalty, which may be to retire. This is regardless of whether “protest” is hailed and/or a protest flag is displayed. Competitors will be familiar with, at minimum, RRS Part 2 “When Boats Meet”, RRS Part 3 “Other Requirements When Racing”, RRS 31 “Touching a Mark”, and RRS 44.1 “Taking a Penalty”. ...
