BSC Junior Sailing Camp offers beginner, intermediate, and advanced/racing courses for kids looking to advance their sailing skills in Optimists, Lasers, and Club 420 sailboats. Sailing Camp is designed to allow sailors ages 8 to 17 to become acquainted with sailing and the basics of racing. Sailors will get hands-on experience rigging, steering, maneuvering around docks and around a course, tying knots, and learning about weather and boating safety. Sailing Camp will start at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 5 and conclude with a family lunch and awards ceremony at noon on Sunday, June 7, 2020. We require that parents of all junior sailors work at least one shift at camp. An email with a link to sign up for a shift will be sent to you upon registration. The cost for this 3 day event covers meals, entertainment, instructors’ fees, and t-shirt. Priority will be given to family members of BSC members. Deadline for priority registration is April 6, 2020. Registration will open to non-members on April 7, 2020. After May 15, 2020, an additional late fee of $50 will apply to all registrations. Contact information for participants will be sent to all parents prior to camp in order to facilitate carpooling. Each participant must wear a US Coast Guard Approved life jacket that fits and shoes or strap-on sandals which can be worn in and around the water.
