The LADY AT THE HELM RACE is scheduled for Saturday, November 5! Co-hosted by Channel Islands Yacht Club and Channel islands Women’s Sailing Association, this is a great race for your female crew members to take the helm (if they don’t already)! At least one female crew must be aboard, and a female must be at the helm during the entire race - especially during the start, finish, and mark roundings. Male crew members may coach the helmswoman but must remain completely “hands-off” the helm except for periodic short breaks (<5min) or a true emergency. After racing, CIYC will host the race awards with hot food and no-host bar followed by a private boat tour of the Tall Ship, s/v MYSTIC WHALER, with Captain Christine Healy!
