Event Update April 5th, 2010
With 16 days left to go the fleet is now going to exceed the expected 40 competitors. 12 Nations have registered and this fleet will be the strongest, as it should be, for 2010. On the men’s side, Sean Farley, reining World Champion has already set camp in town along the new rising star Adam Koch to get used to the high wind conditions and Corpus Christi Bay. Bruno Sorka, the overall World Cup winner in 2009, Damien LeRoy and Abel Lago will be on the starting line as well. Jesse Richman, the overall 2010 IKA Champion also has entered.
Woman’s World Champion Steph Bridges will be chased by 7 time World Champion Kristin Boese and Melissa Gil and the first PKRA Event winner Kari Schibevaag
All Competitors please carefully ready the housekeeping notes below
As an important reminder, registration closes on April 14th. This is due to planning reasons and to get the event organized. In addition all competitors will be asked to pay their entry fee, including a $ 50.00 late fee in case the payment was not submitted by March 28th as noted in the NOR.
In order to clarify the PFD (Personal Floatation Device) questions, it needs to be a vest that is similar to DaKines and Mystics Impact Vests. If a competitor is seen or competes without the required PDF he/she will be disqualified. There will be a limited number of PDF’s available for sale on the night of registration, April 21, 2010 for $ 70.00. Look for the next update and long range forecast on April 14th, 2010.
