Lisa Brewer became CRA's timer for our monthly regattas in 2019. Except for the Midwinters in the ocean as she would get sea sick! She was an excellent timer and would regularly crack us up with her funny comments. Lisa was a member of the Navy Yacht Club of SD and part of their RC as well. Lisa was the timer for all of our monthly events with her last event being the Tribute Regatta last year, in 2024.

Ernie Pennell was a fierce competitor and accomplished mariner. He won his first 1st place of many at age 11 in 1953, and carried that legacy through to his final 1st place finish, 70 years later, in the Cabrillo IV regatta in 2023. Countless other trophies and accolades lined the shelves over the years. Ernie participated in the CRA Beer Can and DC Coronado races over many years with his boats including Cazador, Mad Men and More Madness. Ernie liked to say, “Winning never gets old”.
