2015 Southeast Lightning District Championship : Lake Norman Yacht Club
 

About Event

The 2015 Southeast Districts will be held at Lake Norman Yacht Club (Mooresville, NC) over the weekend of April 11/12, 2015. The newly resurrected fleet at Lake Norman is very excited to host this event for the Lightning Class and are planning a competitive, fun event. We are hoping to draw teams from outside the district as well and treat everyone with some true southern hospitality. April is a great time to sail on Lake Norman with typically breezy conditions. LNYC has already secured PRO Peter Marriott to lead a solid Race Management Team. As per the ILCA District Championship Regulations, LNYC plans a minimum of 5 races with hopes to sail as many as 8 races with a drop after the 6th race. Our social committee has book a live band on Saturday evening with music, games and beverages for all ages. Trophies will be awarded to the top five skippers and crew. Teams who arrive early will have the opportunity to sail in practice races and a possible clinic on Friday, April 10.

    It's confirmed! Skip Dieball will be conducting a performance clinic on Friday (4/10) afternoon. We are planning to get going at 1130 with a quick intro.     A Selden Lightning Spinnaker Pole and Mainsheet Ratchet Block will be given away at Saturday evening's party. Each boat will receive one free entry for the door prize. Additional tickets for the drawing will be available for purchase at the event.
